چکیده
Bolometers are detectors of electromagnetic radiation that usually convert the radiation-induced change in temperature detector into electric signals. Temperature-dependent electrical resistance semiconductors and superconductors, thermoelectric effect thermocouples, pyroelectric transient polarization certain materials when they heated or cooled among underlying physical phenomena used bolometers. Here, we report dependence fundamental frequency a nanowire string detected via scattering light on can be bolometer. Arrays such nanowires serve as with high spatial temporal resolution. We demonstrate bolometer 400 nm resolution, 2–3 µs thermal response time, optical power detection noise floor at 3–5 nW/Hz1/2 room temperature.

Optomechanical nanoantenna.
We introduce optomechanical nanoantennae, which show dramatic changes in scattering properties by minuscule changes in geometry. These structures are very compact, with a volume 500 times smaller than free-space optical wavelength volume. This deep subwavelength geometry leads to high speed and low switching power. The bandwidth of the device is about 4.4 GHz, with a switching energy of only 35...

متن کاملActivating optomechanical entanglement
We propose an optomechanical setup where the activation of entanglement through the pre-availability of non-classical correlations can be demonstrated experimentally. We analyse the conditions under which the scheme is successful and relate them to the current experimental state of the art. The successful activation of entanglement embodies an interesting alternative to current settings for the...
متن کاملA microchip optomechanical accelerometer
The monitoring of accelerations is essential for a variety of applications ranging from inertial navigation to consumer electronics [1]. The basic operation principle of an accelerometer is to measure the displacement of a flexibly mounted test mass; sensitive displacement measurement can be realized using capacitive [2, 3], piezo-electric [4], tunnel-current [5], or optical [6–9] methods. Whil...

Recent progress in optomechanical systemsmay soon allow the realization of optomechanical arrays, i.e. periodic arrangements of interacting optical and vibrationalmodes. We show that photons and phonons on a honeycomb lattice will produce an optically tunableDirac-type band structure. Transport in such a system can exhibit transmission through an optically created barrier, similar toKlein tunnel...
